MOVIE REVIEW:High School Musical 3: Senior Year
Auhtor:

This is the most greatest movie (musical) of all… it's like Greece
but, more to our century. They are not professional dancers, but, they
dance like pro's. Maybe because they practice to make this movie more
love-able. so, people who wrote bad comments don't really appreciate
their hard work for three whole years! That's why they deserve to be
complimented!!! So, people who NEVER watch this show have got to go
watch it!! I will recommend it to anyone who is already boring with our
genre of songs nowadays. Mostly pop and tech-no. Soo common. Now, try
one of classics songs. And, enjoy some laughter with Sharpay and Ryan's
songs.

The last film in the Disney franchise was the only one that got a
cinema release, that didn't really make much difference to proceedings,
but it pleases the target audience, from director Kenny Ortega (Hocus
Pocus). Basically Troy Bolton (Zac Efron), girlfriend Gabriella Montez
(Vanessa Anne Hudgens) and the rest of the gang are spending their last
year in East High School in senior year, facing graduation and parting
ways. Coming to terms with all these changes, Troy wants a basketball
scholarship attending at the University of New Mexico, but he has a
good stage presence, and Gabrielle wants to go to do performing arts in
Julliard School of Arts in New York. Spoiled, rich and shallow Sharpay
Evans (Ashley Tisdale) wants recognition by becoming a leading singing
star in the school's final musical show, but looks beaten by Gabrielle.
Sharpay has a new sidekick to help her get what she wants in British
exchange student Tiara Gold (Jemma McKenzie-Brown), and her twin
brother Ryan (Lucas Grabeel) is gaining a reputation as a great
choreographer. Also, Troy's best friend, basketball teammate Chad
Danforth (Corbin Bleu) and Gabrielle's best friend Taylor McKessie
(Monique Coleman) look like they are going on different paths as well.
After the usual down on hopes and dreams stuff, Troy and Gabrille come
back together for the final musical show, all the students get their
degrees for graduation, Troy says the final goodbyes, and everyone
sings the final song, "High School Musical". Also starring Olesya Rulin
as Kelsi Nielsen, Chris Warren Jr. as Zeke Baylor, Bart Johnson as
Coach Jack Bolton and Alyson Reed as Ms. Darbus. The songs are catchy,
the choreography is actually really good, and there are bright colours
all over the place, a good way for the trilogy to end and a fun musical
comedy drama. Worth watching!

I've seen High School Musical and High School Musical 2 so it made
sense for me to see High School Musical 3: Senior Year but is it better
than the last two? The story has definitely improved and it worked a
lot better and made more sense as they prepared to say goodbye through
one last show. I also noticed that there is a couple of funny scenes in
it and the characters were better written this time round, the
character development was actually visible from all of the characters
and you got to see all the characters instead of seeing one more than
the other. I noticed that Monique Coleman who plays Gabriella's best
friend Taylor, doesn't seem to be in the movie as much as the other
characters do and I don't know why considering she's supposed to be one
of the main characters. The acting is a lot better and the actors and
actresses did a good job of portraying their characters. The direction
was good and the choreography was great. Also, the songs are a lot
better than the first two.

I was surprised to find that the last movie would be the best out of
all of them. I can say it's definitely toned down on the
chesse-o-meter, it's gone from "Super Ultimate Same Difference cheese!"
to "Plain cheese" and you hardly cringe watching some of the scenes.
The songs and dances were well done and quite enjoyable. It's improved
a lot on everything from the last two movies and the difference from
the first two and this one is adults may actually find themselves
liking it. It's got charm, it's colourful and it's a nice way of
escapism. Overall, I very much enjoyed this more than the other two as
it's a lot more improved. I don't see why people hate it so much, sure
it's not great but it isn't bad either, I've seen a lot worse and
considering the target audience is mainly kids and pre-teens, it
shouldn't be taken too seriously. After all, it's just a bit of Disney
squeaky-clean fun.

Warning: This is a movie with NO story plot in the strict sense.I know
that a musical kind of movie features music and dance scenes but that
does not make up for the lack of content. Now all I recall from this
movie is a bunch of crazy graduates flooded with adrenaline rush and
dancing their way into university. Only two story elements in this
movie: 1.The struggling decision-making rhapsody for Troy and his
annoying girlfriend. 2. Poor Sharpay betrayed by her personal assistant
(and by bloody Troy couple again). I won't call them stories that need
an entire movie to tell. They are just 'drama scenes'.Even some of the
Gaga MTVs, egg. 'Telephone', are more fleshy in story details than this
crap. And speaking of the characters in this movie….The Troy couple
are eye candies but they lack in character and are not impressive at
all. And I have to air grievance for Sharpay here: The East High crew
treat her like sh*t. I didn't see her ever doing anything wrong in this
movie, but the East High crew continued to make fun out of her, to the
point of annoying me as an audience. Sometimes I just wanna cry out
loud: 'Leave her alone! I wanna see more of Sharpay singing and
dancing!'She is not a dumb blonde, for god's sake. She gets real talent
and deserves all her effort in pursuing her actor dreams. However, she
ends up being a clown. I was very much impressed with the first one in
this sequel but the last two totally sicked me away.
